  3. This file accompanies FORMAT v 2.04.
  4.  
  5. FORMAT has the following features:
  6.         - program and accessory in one;
  7.         - various formats:
  8.                 - single/double sided
  9.                 - 40/80/81/82/83 tracks
  10.                 - 9/10 sectors
  11.         - as an accessory it can format disks in the background;
  12.         - can create MS-DOS compatible disks;
  13.         - can create immune (virusresistant) disks;
  14.         - can use an external bootsector file as prototype bootsector;
  15.         - formats in reversed order;
  16.         - can format two disks at once.

  18. Files:
  19.         - FORMAT.PRG of FORMAT.ACC
  20.         - SAVEBOOT.PRG
  21.         - FORMAT.TXT

  23. First thing FORMAT does when executed is try to read the file FORMAT.BT.
  24. If available, this file is used as a prototype for the creation of bootsectors.
  25. If not available the user can choose between MS-DOS and ST-Immune bootsectors.

  27. Disks are always tried to be formatted MS-DOS readable (even if they don't get
  28. the MS-DOS bootsector).
  29. The utility program SAVEBOOT can save bootsectors to FORMAT.BT; just choose
  30. a drive.
