- Utrecht, April 1990.
-
- This file accompanies FORMAT v 2.04.
-
- FORMAT has the following features:
- - program and accessory in one;
- - various formats:
- - single/double sided
- - 40/80/81/82/83 tracks
- - 9/10 sectors
- - as an accessory it can format disks in the background;
- - can create MS-DOS compatible disks;
- - can create immune (virusresistant) disks;
- - can use an external bootsector file as prototype bootsector;
- - formats in reversed order;
- - can format two disks at once.
-
- Files:
- - FORMAT.PRG of FORMAT.ACC
- - SAVEBOOT.PRG
- - FORMAT.TXT
-
- First thing FORMAT does when executed is try to read the file FORMAT.BT.
- If available, this file is used as a prototype for the creation of bootsectors.
- If not available the user can choose between MS-DOS and ST-Immune bootsectors.
-
- Disks are always tried to be formatted MS-DOS readable (even if they don't get
- the MS-DOS bootsector).
- The utility program SAVEBOOT can save bootsectors to FORMAT.BT; just choose
- a drive.
